Welcome to Oversee. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you don’t agree, please don’t use Oversee.

Who Can Use Oversee
You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re 13 to 15 and live in the EU, your local laws may require parental consent.
By using Oversee, you confirm that:
- You are legally allowed to enter into this agreement.
- You are not on a sanctions list maintained by the UK, EU, or US, and you are not located in a country subject to comprehensive trade sanctions by any of those jurisdictions.
- You will use Oversee in line with all applicable laws.
What Oversee Does
Oversee is a macOS app that watches regions of your screen and runs actions when something you told it to look for happens. Specifically, Oversee can:
- Watch any region of any window or browser tab on your Mac.
- Run on-device machine learning to detect changes, states, and text.
- Trigger notifications or send messages through services you connect (webhooks, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Pushover, email, iMessage, WhatsApp, Apple Notes, Apple Reminders, AI services you configure).
- Pair with a companion Chrome extension for watching web-page regions.
- Pair with an optional companion iOS app to deliver a notification to your phone when a watch fires.
What Oversee does not do:
- Upload the content of the things you watch to our servers, with one exception: if you use the iOS companion, a notification’s title and body (which can include OCR text or an AI result) passes through our server and Apple’s push service, encrypted so neither can read it, to reach your phone. See the Privacy Policy for how that works.
- Record full-screen video, audio, or continuous capture.
- Store your watches, watch results, or OCR text in the cloud.
Features may change, be removed, or be added over time. We don’t promise uninterrupted service or permanent availability of any specific feature.
Your Licence
Oversee is sold as a one-time purchase, through our Merchant of Record, Paddle. You pay once. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no recurring charge.
- The price is $29 USD, plus any tax due where you are. Tax is calculated and shown at checkout.
- An Oversee licence is personal to you and tied to your account.
- The licence does not expire. It stays valid for as long as the product exists.
- A single licence can be activated on up to 3 devices at the same time. You can view activated devices and deactivate one in Settings → Devices.
- Pairing the optional iOS companion is separate from this and doesn’t use one of your 3 device slots. It’s tied to your account, not to a licence activation.
- You may not share your licence or account credentials, or use a single licence to serve multiple people.
- If a device is lost or replaced, deactivate it in Settings → Devices to free up the seat.
- You may not resell, relicense, or sub-license Oversee.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to install and use Oversee on your own Mac, subject to these Terms.
Updates
We release updates from time to time, and you get them at no extra cost while we publish them. Updates are provided at our discretion. We do not promise a particular release schedule, a particular number of future versions, or that any given feature will keep working across future macOS releases. Your right to keep using the version you have is not affected by whether we ship another one.
Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy at https://oversee.so/privacy for details on what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. By using Oversee, you agree to the data handling described there.
Payments and Refunds
Payments
- Payments are handled by Paddle, our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle.com Market Ltd (UK) sells Oversee on our behalf and is responsible for billing, tax (VAT / GST) collection and remittance, and invoicing. Paddle acts as an independent controller for billing data when processing payments.
- Taxes may be added at checkout depending on your location and tax status.
- We don’t store your payment card details. Your payment record and invoices live in Paddle.
Refunds
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Oversee isn’t right for you, email support@oversee.so within 30 days of your purchase with your Paddle transaction ID (it’s on your receipt), and we’ll refund you in full. You don’t have to explain why.
- The 30 days run from the date of purchase.
- If you’re in the EU or UK and purchase as a consumer, you also have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content, unless you consented to immediate access before the 14 days ended, in which case that statutory right may no longer apply. Our own 30-day guarantee is longer and applies either way, so you are never worse off.
- After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion.
- Refunded licences are deactivated automatically. Continued use of the app after a refund is not permitted.
Price changes
We may change the price of Oversee for new purchases. A licence you have already bought is unaffected: it was a one-time purchase and there is nothing to re-charge.
Intellectual Property
Our rights
The Oversee app, the Oversee backend, all server code, databases, design assets, documentation, and marketing materials are proprietary to Serial Labs Ltd. All rights are reserved. This includes the Chrome extension, which is not open-source software and is licensed to you on the same terms as the app.
“Oversee” and the Oversee logos are trademarks of Serial Labs Ltd. You may not use them to identify your own products or services, or in a way that suggests we endorse you.
You get the rights described under “Your Licence” above. You don’t get any other rights to our intellectual property.
Bundled third-party assets
Oversee includes a set of Apple Shortcuts files we wrote (for Email, iMessage, WhatsApp, Apple Notes, Apple Reminders, Ask ChatGPT, and Apple Intelligence) which get installed into your Shortcuts app when you enable the relevant integration. These shortcut files are part of the licensed product and follow the same licence.
Oversee also bundles on-device machine-learning models and third-party open-source libraries. A full list with their licences is available from within the app under About → Third-party acknowledgements.
Your feedback
If you send us ideas, bug reports, or feedback (through the app, email, or otherwise), we may use that feedback to improve Oversee without any obligation to you. We won’t identify you as the source unless you ask us to.
Your Content and Watches
You own everything you do in Oversee. That means:
- The watches you create, the screen regions you watch, the OCR text and frames Oversee analyses, and any results are yours. We never upload any of it to our servers.
- The message templates, recipients, and action settings you configure are yours.
- If you submit a debug report or flag a result (opting in explicitly), the contents of that report are covered by the Privacy Policy for as long as we keep it (60 days), and are only used to fix bugs and improve the product.
You are responsible for:
- Having permission to watch the content you watch. You must not use Oversee to circumvent the terms of services you do not own (for example, scraping that breaches a third-party site’s ToS, or bypassing access controls on content you are not entitled to).
- Complying with the privacy rights of anyone whose information appears in the things you watch (for example, if you watch a shared dashboard that contains other people’s personal data, you are responsible for any privacy obligations that come with that).
- Making sure any alert or action you wire up doesn’t send messages, emails, or API calls to recipients without a lawful basis.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Oversee to break any law, harass anyone, or infringe anyone else’s rights.
- Use Oversee to spam, phish, or send unsolicited commercial messages through any connected integration.
- Use Oversee to automate activity on a third-party service in breach of that service’s terms.
- Use Oversee for any safety-critical, life-critical, medical-decision, or high-risk financial-trading use. Watch detection uses machine learning and is not guaranteed to be accurate.
- Share, transfer, resell, or sub-license your licence, or help anyone else do the same.
- Probe, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the app or its backend, except where this right cannot be excluded under applicable law.
- Overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our servers, our CDN, or our error tracking.
- Use any automated means to create multiple accounts or bypass the per-licence device limit.
If you violate these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account and licence, disable activations, and pursue any legal remedies available to us.
Third-Party Services
Oversee lets you connect to services you already use, and it ships bundled Apple Shortcuts that dispatch into your Mac’s built-in apps.
- For direct integrations (webhooks, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Pushover, OpenAI, LM Studio), you bring your own endpoint, bot token, or API key. You are responsible for following that service’s terms and for anything you send through it.
- For bundled Apple Shortcuts (Email, iMessage, WhatsApp, Notes, Reminders, Ask ChatGPT, Apple Intelligence), Oversee provides the shortcut. You provide the recipient and the message content, and you are responsible for how you use your own Apple account.
- For AI analysis prompts, Oversee ships defaults which you can override. What you send to the AI engine (Apple Intelligence, LM Studio, ChatGPT, OpenAI) is your choice. Each engine is governed by its own privacy policy and terms.
We don’t control third-party services. They may break, change, or become unavailable. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or policy changes at third parties.
Account Termination
You may delete your account any time via Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailing support@oversee.so.
We may suspend or terminate your account and licence if:
- You break these Terms.
- We are legally required to do so.
- You use the service unlawfully or harmfully.
- A payment is reversed or refunded and the licence has not been returned.
When your account is terminated, we deactivate your licence and delete server-side data as described in the Privacy Policy. Data stored on your own Mac is not affected unless you uninstall the app.
Disclaimers
Oversee is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Specifically, we don’t promise that:
- Watch detection is 100% accurate. Machine-learning and OCR can miss events, fire on the wrong things, or be affected by changes in the interfaces you’re watching.
- Alerts and actions will always fire on time. Your Mac going to sleep, the target app changing, a third-party integration being down, or your network being unavailable can delay or prevent an alert.
- Third-party integrations will keep working. Services can change their APIs without notice.
- Bundled Apple Shortcuts will keep working across all macOS versions. Apple can change Shortcuts behaviour and we may not be able to keep up immediately.
You use Oversee at your own risk. Do not use it as the sole signal for anything safety-critical, medical, or high-stakes financial.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you’re in the UK or EU, you keep the legal rights your local consumer law gives you about goods and digital content being of satisfactory quality and as described, and nothing in these Terms limits those.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, data loss, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of Oversee.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to Oversee is limited to the total amount you paid us for your licence.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
Export Controls
You may not use or export Oversee in breach of any applicable export-control law or sanctions programme of the UK, EU, or US. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Oversee is lawful in your jurisdiction.
Business Transfers
If Oversee or Serial Labs Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, we may transfer our rights and obligations, including data, to the new owner. We will notify you via email or in-app before any material changes take effect, and your data-protection rights will continue to apply.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including internet or hosting failures, actions of a sub-processor or CDN, cyber-attacks, strikes, government restrictions or legal orders, pandemics, natural disasters, or war.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Oversee evolves. The current version always lives at https://oversee.so/terms, which is the link the app points at. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will notify you by email or in-app before it takes effect. If you don’t agree with a material change, your option is to stop using the app and, where applicable, request a refund under the Refunds section.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Try to resolve any dispute with us informally first by emailing support@oversee.so. We commit to responding within 30 days.
- If informal resolution fails, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Miscellaneous
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and us about Oversee.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a provision at one point doesn’t waive our right to enforce it later.
- Electronic communications. By using Oversee, you consent to receive notices and legal communications electronically, including by email and in-app.
- Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
